I use this weekly for making fresh and dried pasta, and for cooking batches of stock and soup. If you have problems with splattering or spillage while performing these tasks, this pot will help make you less of a messy chef!

It's particularly good for delicate cream based soups and sauces, which burn quickly & easily on inferior cheap disk bottom stockpots. (unless you have a dedicated sous chef to stir for hours on end) Although it's true that, if all you're going to do is boil water, you can get away with a cheaper piece of cookware.
